Collections Work

In a collaborative effort with the Ziibiwing Center of Anishinaabe Culture and Lifeways, I wrote extensive condition reports for their traditionally made basket collection. 

In collaboration with Crown Hill Cemetary, I helped to clean their historic gravestones for future preservation.  

This was done in a controlled lab experience where I was required to remove soot from damaged objects using cotton swabs and soot erasers. 

During my internship, a collection of membership cards was donated. They were in a poor state so we created mylar sleeves to preserve them against damage. 

During my internship, we redesigned the exhibit space which called for whole new displays. I was responsible for switching out the objects on display, searching in past perfect for their home location, and even cataloging unrecorded items.

During this project I worked with the FBI Art Crime team to repatriate Native American funerary objects and ancestry remains to their communities.
